REOS 204: Dordrecht, from bridge to bridge
Between 2000 and 2004 REOS filmed between the Moerdijk and Zwijndrechtse bridges on the “Ilse of Dordrecht”. The result is a film with great variety of passenger and freight trains in many colourful liveries seen at different points along the line.
We start at the Moerdijk-bridge where the pile of sand shows the location of the new high speed line. After scenes shot at several road crossings we arrive at Dordrecht central station were we take time to watch the trains from the platforms. After the shunting of a Rail-crane we travel to the Zwijndrechtse-bridge on the river Oude Maas. The 4 track crossing gives plenty of traffic and every hour the bridge on this busy line opens. With the EMU Class Mat 54 we return to Dordrecht central station during stormy weather whilst ‘Steam in Dordrecht 2000’ takes place.
Amongst the trains of the NS (Dutch Railways) we also see Class 66 of HGK and Short Lines and a Class 1200 of ACTS.
Running time; 76 minutes
We end with further scenes filmed in 2005 and 2008 at the railroad crossing just North of the Moerdijk-bridge which is one of the most scenic locations on the “Island”. With these extra scenes there is a great variety of, mainly freight, trains filmed under a sunny blue sky.
Extra running time: 16 minutes.
We only use original sound recordings, without any additional commentary or Music.
DVDR, stereo/Dolby®-surround.
