REOS 076: BLS South Ramp spring 2005
van Italië naar Goppenstein

In 1913 the Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon line was opened and became an important connection from Bern to the South of Switzerland and onto Italy.
In 2000 work on the Lötschberg base tunnel started, which was opened at the end of 2007 when the timetable changed dramatically.
REOS filmed this famous line in May 2005. We see EW IV passenger shuttle’s, RE 460’s on Intercity trains and Euro-city’s consisting of Belgium or Cisalpino coaches as well as local services run by the BLS.
Freight trains are run by SBB and BLS. We witness many through trains to Italy, including numerous rolling road trains, as well as the BLS car shuttle to Iselle and base-tunnel construction trains to Goppenstein.
We visit every station on the line and bridges are shown from different perspectives and we take a look at the beautiful countryside surrounding the line whilst the birds sing and the sun shines.
We start with a short visit to the yard at Domodossola in Italy and from Iselle/Varso to Goppenstein maps are added to point out camera positions.
We only use original sound recordings, without any additional
commentary or music.
DVDR, Stereo/Dolby®-surround. Running time 99 minuten.
