REOS 066: Gotthard North Ramp 2000-2004

DVDR € 18.00  £ 12.50

Between 2000 and 2004, REOS frequently visited Wassen and surrounding area. From the start of the climb at Erstfeld, up the long gradients towards Gurtnellen, the spiral tunnel at Pfaffensprung, the tunnels at Wassen, and the sunny curves at Göschenen to the Gotthard tunnel mouth. Surprising camera views with long pan shots along the green slopes give an impressive look at this famous route to the South.

Durring the time period this film was shot, there has been a change in the flexibility of SBB engines used. The Re 6/6s are mostly working on freights whilst the 460s haul passenger trains. The variation of the trains is as usual; local passenger trains mixed with SBB, German and Italian Euro City trains. The freight trains have the same mixture of local and inter- national destinations hauled by a mixture of SBB engines. Apart from the multiple loco useage, the Gotthard is also famous for its “multiple” light engines.

The recordings have been made with a Digital 8 Camera.

Maps are added to point out the camera locations. We only use original sound recordings, without any additional commentary or music.

Additional footage is included of Airolo and Goschenen durring the snow and at night. Filmed in February 2005.
