REOS 056: Albula line part 1, from Thusis to Filisur.
The Albula line was completed in 1903 and has always been a special
attraction to rail enthusiast all over the world, mainly due to the
spectacular engineering achievements of spirals, tunnels and bridges.
This films follows the line from Thusis to Filisur. Filisur is the
well known junction of the Davos and Albula lines.
Witness the modern station of Thusis with the loading of car
transporters as well as loading and shunting of freight wagons.
Passing through Sils, Solis, Tiefencastel, Surava and Alvaneu the
train arrives at Filisur.
Between these stations, shots have been taken from the some of the
most beautiful locations, bringing you a great variety of passenger
and freight trains, including green and blue jubilee celebration
trains hauled by a Crocodile.
Maps are added to point out the camera locations. We only use original
sound recordings, without any added commentary or music.
