REOS 036En: Zurich Hbf station.
During February and April, REOS visited Zürich Hbf station.
Sunny weather provided ideal conditions for filming the action,
with the only obstacle being the reconstruction of the station
area. During April the weather was less kind, with heavy cloud
cover and rain making for some atmospheric recordings.
Huge variety and constant action of trains arriving and
departing from the main station, as well as shots taken around
the station square featuring the famous Zürich trams, and the
separate platforms of the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn.
As the rush hour approaches, train lengths increase with
additional coaches added, resulting in some unexpected
combinations.
A modern efficient image is evident with many trains consisting
of double deck IC 2000 and S Bahn trains and push/pull driving
trailers. However, Zürich is still serviced by many loco hauled
trains, which can be seen negotiating the complex station
“throat”.
The varied motive power includes: Re 460’s in ten different
liveries, double deck IC 2000 and S Bahn trains, SBB ICN’s,
DB ICE 1’s and ICE TD’s, Cisalpino’s and TGV’s.
As darkness falls, long distance night trains appear, including
the “Talgo” for Barcelona and Inter City Nightline trains
serving major European cities.
We only use original sound recordings, without any additional music or commentary.
Running time approximately: 69 minutes.
DVD+R, Stereo/Dolby®-surround.
