REOS 024En: Along Lake Geneva

DVDR £ 10,95  € 16,00

In the summer of 2000 , REOS visited the Lake of Geneva. We start at Geneva station where the French influence is noted by the appearance of the TGV -"Atlantique" and SNCF locos. Between Geneva and Lausanne the majority of express services, composed of EW IV stock, pass at high speed, whilst local stopping trains consist of NPZ units. Short freight trains are routed between the passenger services. On the outskirts of Lausanne, the mainline divides ; one route climbs away from the lake and through the vineyards towards Bern , and the other along the valley towards Montreux and Brig. In Montreux, we visit the platforms of the MOB, (Montreux-Berner Oberland-Bahn.) Amongst local trains we filmed the Crystal panoramic express with a "black" loco positioned inbetween the carriages. At the Castle of Chillon, we take time to enjoy passing freight and passenger trains. The lake transport is provided by the paddle steamer "Vevey". Filming is taken from vantage points to give a good impression of the landscape.

Filmed at the following locations: Geneva, Crans, Nyon, between Buchillon and St.-Prex, Lausanne, near Lutry, near Cully, Rivaz, St.-Saphorin, Vevey, Montreux, Territet and at Chateau de Chillon.

On Screen maps are included to provide the camera locations. We only use original sound recordings without any commentary or music
